Jacobo Futran, MD, earned his medical degree, completed his internship and
residency at the National Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City.
He completed his Rheumatology Fellowship at the University of Toronto in Toronto, ON, Canada. He later completed two post-doctorate fellowships: the first in Immunology at the University of Iowa in Iowa City and the second in molecular biology at the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York.
From 1990 to 1997 Dr. Futran was the chief of Rheumatology at Lincoln Hospital,
where he ran a research laboratory focused in secondary messengers for cell
activation.
From 1997 to 2007 Dr. Futran was the chief of Rheumatology at Bronx Lebanon
Hospital Center and it was at this time that he opened his private practice.
